!Xóõ is the last member of the family of Southern Bushman languages. It is spoken in a number of varieties in southwestern Botswana, in the Ghanzi and Kgalagadi Districts, and in the Aminuis Reserve in Namibia (Traill 1985).
This is the first comprehensive dictionary of a Southern Khoisan language. It is a bilingual dictionary with over 3,000 !Xóõ entries arranged according to a phonological rather than alphabetic principle. The !Xóõ entries are contextualised with idiomatic examples and are fully cross-referenced. The introduction provides the user with essential features of !Xóõ phonology, morphology and syntax (grammatical sketch).
