With about 700 pieces of textiles and clothing from 17 African countries the Iwalewa House – the Centre for African Culture of the University of Bayreuth / Germany – possesses one of the most important collections in Germany. The focus of the collection is on clothing and textiles originating in West Africa. With this exhibition catalogue the Iwalewa-Haus offers this unique treasures to the interested public for the first time.
