The present collection aims for introduce the reader to the most beautiful proverbs from Ethiopia and to deliver some of the experience, the wealth of ideas and the wisdom of Ethiopian peoples. Their wide experience is presented in short phrases and enriched with authentic pictures.
Each of the about 250 proverbs appears in its original version, thus depicted in Amharic, Oromo, Tigrinya, Wolaytta/Wolaitta and further languages, furnished with a close translation into German. Five full-page colour photos underline some proverbs’ expressiveness. Typical Ethiopian cultural terms are shortly explained.
