Lega / Kelega wird in der östlichen Region der Demokratischen Republik Kongo (vormals Zaïre) von schätzungsweise 400.000 Menschen (1994) gesprochen. Es ist eine Bantusprache (D.25 nach Guthrie) und umfasst zwei wichtige Dialektgruppen: das Isile (Lega Ntara) und das eigentliche Lega (Lega Malinga). Dieses Wörterbuch gibt eine Einführung in das Beya-Musange, eine der dialektalen Varianten des eigentlichen Lega. Es gibt Aufschluss über die benutzte Transkription und grundlegende phonologische und morphologische Charakteristika der Sprache. Das Vokabular ist in einem Lega-Englisch- und einem Englisch-Lega-Vokabelteil angeordnet.

Ein Index mit Proto-Bantu-Wurzeln gibt Hinweise auf Guthrie’s Common Bantu (1971) und Meeussen’s Bantu Lexical Reconstructions (1980).
